WHAT WE BELIEVE

Firm in Faith. Grace in Action.

Rossville United Methodist Church bases our faith on Scripture, the grace of God, and the transforming work of Jesus Christ. We believe in living out our faith through love, good works, and community, seeing both personal and communal transformation as God shapes us. Our beliefs guide our worship, teaching, ministries, and mission in Rossville and beyond.

Scripture

We believe the Bible is God’s inspired Word—fully trustworthy and our guide for faith and life. It is where we see God’s plan, our redemption, and His will revealed.

Grace & Salvation

Salvation is a gift of God’s grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone. Not earned, but given freely to all who believe, repent, and trust in His work on the cross.

Faith & Works

While we are saved by grace, we believe our faith should produce good works: compassion, service, justice, and participation in Christ’s mission in the world.

Sacraments

We uphold Baptism and Holy Communion as visible signs of God’s grace—Baptism as initiation into faith, and Communion as remembrance and participation in Christ’s sacrifice.

Tradition & Social Justice

As United Methodists, we honor our rich tradition of love, mercy, and justice. We believe Christians are called to advocate for the vulnerable, care for neighbors, and embody Christ’s compassion in society.

Eternal Life & Christ’s Return

We believe in the resurrection of the righteous, the second coming of Jesus Christ, and eternal life for all who trust in Him. Those who reject the gospel will face eternal separation from God.

Ordinances & Practices

Baptism — Entry into the Christian life through water, marking faith in Jesus Christ.
Holy Communion — Remembering Christ’s sacrifice, proclaiming the gospel until He comes.
Worship — Congregational, scriptural, responsive, in prayer, song, Word, and sacrament.
Prayer & Discipleship — We grow in faith together, encouraging spiritual disciplines and mutual support.

Our Mission

To make new disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.
